What is a Data Cable for a Cell Phone and how do they work? Some mobile phones come with data cables, and most others you can purchase a data cable for. Generally they connect to your phone to the USB on your computer. What they do is allow you to transfer data from the mobile device to the computer or vise verse. One thing you may encounter with this is that when you plug the phone and data cable into your computer, then the computer may not recognize the phone. Generally the reason for this is that for a computer to recognize a device it needs software drivers. What I would advise doing in this situation is going to Google and searching for your phone make and model and drivers for that phone (Ex. LG CU500 USB Drivers). Usually you will be able to find some free on the web and then you can download and install them. That should solve your issue with the computer not recognizing your phone via the USB cable.

This is pretty cool found this on an awesome tutorial website tech recipes. Its a totally free and great way to find stuff on google. In this instant we are searching for 3gp movie files to put on your mobile phone. Yes these 3gp videos will work on your blackberry and should work on most any smart phone. I can’t guarantee all phones but most phones play and record in 3gp format. Go to google and search for the string “-inurl:htm -inurl:html -inurl:asp intitle:”index of” 3gp.” This will give you a crap load of indexes full of videos.

Your first question might actually be, why would I want to connect my bluetooth phone to my computer? It is a great way to transfer photos, mp3’s and other files from your mobile phone to your computer without the purchase of cables that only work with one phone or expensive software for a specific phone.
How do I connect my bluetooth phone with my computer? First you need to turn your phones visibility on. Most phones you do this by going into the menu, settings and they should be an option for “connections.” Bluetooth will or should be under your connects, like I said this is for most phones. You need to first make sure your bluetooth is turned on. Next you need to turn on your bluetooth’s visability.
As far as your computer goes. You either need a laptop/tower with bluetooth build in or a bluetooth USB adapter. You can generally get a bluetooth USB adapter for less than $30, and these are very useful and can be used with multiple phones, which is great about bluetooth.
After you have your bluetooth USB installed on your computer, then you need to sync them together. The easiest way that I have found to do this is to do it from the phone. Under your bluetooth settings under your phone, they should be an option to search for new devices or to pair it. Once your perform the search it should find your computer. Select to pair it with your computer. It will ask you for the passcode on the phone it should be “0000″ that is four zeros. You should get a pop up from the system tray on a windows machine asking if you want to pair your bluetooth with this device. You need to tell it yes and it will ass for the passcode, which again is four zeros “0000.” You should then be ready to use your bluetooth enabled phone with your computer.

How do you clean corrosion or dirt/gunk off of your charging port on your mobile phone?
The best way to do this is with a tooth brush and alcohol. Take some, not a lot, of alcohol on the end of a toothbrush and rub it against the port. This will generaly remove most surface damage or corrosion. Of course if their is a burnt spot or more serious damage on your phone, this will not be able to remove that. Also if you able to take your phone apart. This is good for cleaning the inside of your phone if you have had liquid damage to the internal components.

How do you remove scratches and dents from your mobile phone? So you dropped your mobile phone a few times and you now have scratches. What do you do? You really can’t remove the scratches themselves but you can hide them and cover them. The best way to do this is to use fingernail polish or a colored sharpie marker. Make sure to be careful not to use too much, but just use a small amount at a time until the scratch is hidden.

So everybody wants to know what phones pick up the best? Well my experience is with GSM phones in America. Generally Nokia phones pick up the best hands down. Generally in lower coverage areas they have about a bar of signal better. Though recently Sony Ericsson has made some great strides and pick up as good if not better on some models than some Nokia Phones with their new loop antenna design. So over all if your needing better signal and your on a GSM network go with a Nokia or Sony Ericsson.

Your question may be what is a SIM card and what does it do? A SIM card is a “Subscriber Identity Module” also you may hear to it referred to as a “smart chip” by some people. Generally SIM card is the correct way to identify it as, as calling it a smart chip can be confused with other types of memory or chips/memory cards. So what does it do? The easiest way to think of it is that the SIM card identifies your GSM phone with the tower and your phone number/account. You can put your SIM card in any unlocked GSM phone and it will allow you to use your service and phone number on your network. What else is stored on your SIM card besides the information to identify your phone to the GSM network/system you are using? You can save your phone numbers to your SIM card so that when you transfer it to other phones you will already have your phone book in the new phone. Also depending on the phone, some will store your text messages to your SIM card. I get a lot of questions asking about pictures being stored to the SIM card, which they are not. Generally SIM cards KB sizes are 32 or 64kb.
ATT Wireless has started using 64kb SIM cards for their new phones and require them for their 3g devices. Most new ATT 3g devices will not work properly with an older 32kb SIM card and will have some issues, including accessing the Internet and voice mail systems.

A frequent question people have is, what do I do when my text messages seem to stop working? If you have not changed any of your message settings then in most cases the best thing to do, is to call your customer service (which can be done by calling 611 from your mobile) and asking them to reset the text messaging on your device. What they generally will do is remove the feature and add it back. After that you will need to power cycle your phone (turn it off and then back on). That should update the text messaging on your phone and network. This will generally fix most basic text messaging issues.
