What is the PUK on my phone what is a PUK Lock?

On GSM phones they have a PUK or SIM card lock. The PUK is a unique code for your phone on your service provider for your particular SIM card. Once you turn this on and your phone ask you to enter the PUK code, you must call your service provider to find out what your PUK code is. If you try your PUK code wrong to many times it will lock your SIM card. Once your SIM card has been blocked you will have to purchase or get a new SIM card.

I was browsing throuh the security section in my phone to see what options i had to lock my phone from unwanted people.. i clicked CHECK PIN and automatically needed the pin in which i didnt have.. after failing to get the right password a certain amount of times, it asked for my PUK CODE.. I understand what it is but i cant find it.. I am having problems loging on to my account on att.com and that is the only play i have been told i can get my PUK CODE. I have a BEJCF360…
